MAINE DAFFODIL BLOOMS

The daffodil was the flower symbol for Maine suffragists in their fight for the right to vote. So last November, citizens all over the state planted thousands of daffodil bulbs designed to bloom in 2020, during the National  Suffrage Centennial,  and every year thereafter as a living, lasting tribute to the right to vote. Now they’re blooming! So when you see cheerful yellow flowers brightening up your community, remember they’re in honor of a group of courageous, determined women. A great way to acknowledge their contribution to our nation is to vote. The primary election is scheduled for July 14, but you can begin today by requesting an absentee ballot.
