The event will include an illustrated presentation of the backstory and movers and shakers behind the break from Massachusetts in 1819, presented by Historian Herb Adams, former state representative and current Adjunct Professor at Southern Maine Community College.
Following will be a panel discussion about rights and citizenship with attorney Marshall Tinkle, author Anne Gass. Dr. Donald Soctomah of the Passamaquoddy tribe, and attorney Mary Bonauto, who argued the successfiul 2015 same-sex marriage case before the US Supreme Court.
